Hello Parents,

Summer is here and we are so excited for the long, sunny days and fun that it brings! Here are some events and updates for our New City Kids summer plans you should be aware of.

We hope you all have a wonderful day celebrating and learning about Juneteenth today! If you are looking for some basic information to start a discussion about Juneteenth with your children, here is an article to read from Focus on the Family.

We are always looking to expand our New City Kids book collection, if you have suggestions for children's books or parent/adult books celebrating Juneteenth and African American stories, authors, and artists, send them along to Children's Ministry Director Percy Rolleston!

Summer Nursery Classes!

As another school year comes to an end, we are so excited for all our 1st graders who will be heading into 2nd in August! Starting June 7th, Nursery during the service will be for children ages baby to kindergarten completed.

Since our Pre-K and Kindergarten class is combined for the summer, we do suggest that all children who just turned 4, or will be starting Pre-K in the Fall, should stay in our 2-3 year old class for the summer.

Thank you to all who came to VBS this year! We served over 5o kids for three days of fun and fellowship & we are blown away by all our volunteers’ generosity and enthusiasm!

We are already so excited for next year, but until then we hope to you all will join us for Vacation Sunday School as we continue to study the Minor Prophets!

Playground Gate Repairs

As some of you may have noticed, there is a hole in our playground fence. We are so sorry for the inconvenience and we are hoping to have the hole fixed soon. Until then, we would appreciate your help in keeping an eye on our New City Kids as they play because some may try and escape through the gap in our gate!

It is a blessing to have a growing congregation and children who desire to be a part of the body of Christ, so four times a year we take a Sunday to celebrate the gifts God has blessed our congregation with. On Family Sundays, we invite our younger members to serve by handing out bulletins, leading worship and by collecting the offering.

On July 5th there will be no nursery so that all members, young and old, can come together and celebrate the gift of each other, wiggles and all! We will have our regular worship bags available as well as younger children's worship bags to help accommodate younger members. If your children or teens are interested in helping with greeting, offering, or leading worship, please reach out to Percy Rolleston or Gianna Rakes for more information.

We are excited to hear all about your summer plans and hope to see you at VSS whenever you are in town! May the Lord continue to bless your families this summer and fill your homes with joy and fellowship all summer long.

Have a wonderful Juneteenth,

Percy Rolleston
