Hispanic Heritage Month Worship Services

As we celebrate what God has done and is doing through our Hispanic and Latino brothers and sisters in the faith, we will have two Sundays when we sing praise primarily in Spanish. We encourage you to use the YouTube playlist to renew your familiarity with these songs and to come to worship on these Sundays prepared to prefer others over ourselves and to appreciate the particular expression of faith and adoration that Latin culture brings to the bride of Christ.

Woodlands Gathering Ministry Philosophy

Sunday Sept. 20 at 6:30 pm is the final lecture in our three-part series, We Are Still Here: An Indigenous History of the U.S. and is the key lecture for understanding our "theology of place," the essential ministry philosophy for the mission and work of Woodlands Gathering. If you missed our two previous lectures, prior year versions are available on our YouTube channel. However, the information we will share this evening is more developed than in years past and will provide a crash course in understanding who we are, and how it affects you and your church. 9966 Lovell Rd., Soddy Daisy. www.woodlandsgathering.org

Heidelberg Catechism #126

Q. What does the fifth petition mean?

A. “Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors” means:

Because of Christ’s blood,
do not hold against us, poor sinners that we are,

any of the sins we do
or the evil that constantly clings to us.1

Forgive us just as we are fully determined,

as evidence of your grace in us,

to forgive our neighbors.2

1 Ps. 51:1-7; 143:2; Rom. 8:1; 1 John 2:1-2
2 Matt. 6:14-15; 18:21-35
