1st Sunday Prayer 5 pm in Fellowship Hall

Sunday School Resumes This Sunday (All Ages)

Adult Classes This Semester

  1. A New class led by elder Andrew Kean designed especially (but not exclusively!) for young adults will be based on Peterson's book, "A Long Obedience in the Same Direction." It studies the song of ascent Psalms as a pattern of Christian living and discipleship. While the class is especially designed for college age and young adults, the "young at heart" are also encouraged to attend. Meets in the Fellowship Hall room nearest Rudy's Room.
  2. Covenant Theology is taught by elder Noel Weichbrodt and Elissa Weichbrodt, a professor at Covenant College. This is a continuing class for the Fall. Those who attended in the fall are encouraged to return as well as any newly interested adults. Meets in the middle room of the Fellowship Hall.
  3. A study of the book of Hebrews will be led by elder Charlie Ingram. This is also a continuing class from the Fall. Those who attended in the fall are encouraged to return as well as any newly interested adults. Meets in the Fellowship Hall room nearest the kitchen.

2026 Faith Promise

The Faith Promise processional offering has been rescheduled to Sunday Feb. 8. We will bring forward pledge cards and penny jars during the worship service that Sunday. If you are unable to attend, you can also pledge online here. For the penny jars, our Children's Ministry has partnered with our Missions Committee to raise money this January for the Narnia School in Slovakia where Marek and Martina Tomavovic are missionaries.

Chili Cook Off Rescheduled - Feb. 1

Who has the best chili in the congregation? The stakes are high, the prizes are ready, and the 6th Annual Chili Cook-off kicks off this Sunday! This isn't just about the heat or the beans—it’s about sending our youth on their summer missions. Your 'votes' are direct donations to their travel fund, so bring your appetite and your generosity. See you in the Fellowship Hall right after service to determine the top 3 chilis and support our kids!

February is Black History Month

NCF Cultural Heritage Committee is highlighting events happening during Black History Month in Chattanooga, specifically at Bessie Smith Cultural Center. These events are not led by or affiliated with New City, however, members will be participating. Details regarding additional activities will be provided in the coming weeks!

Community Day Art Exhibit Feb. 7

You are invited to join us on Saturday, February 7, 2026, as we celebrate a student in our Kindergarten class at New City Fellowship. We are proud to announce that Isabelle Lowry's artwork has been selected to debut at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center 🎉. Isabelle is a talented young artist who loves God and art. She's been drawing since she was 3, and her talent has earned her spots in Splash Art's sales and this prestigious debut representing Hamilton County Schools. Please sign up by February 6th. Transportation provided. See Signup for details. Meet at the church on February 7th by 9:45 am, and we will return by 12 pm.

2026 Annual Congregational Meeting

Every one of us has a stake in the story our church is writing. On February 11, we want to share the 2026 budget and Strategic Focus with you—not just as numbers, but as our shared commitment to this community. We’ll start with dinner at 5:30 PM because great conversations happen around the table.Preview the plan and budget below, and join us Wednesday as we invest in our future together.

Gospel Fest Celebration Feb. 22

Come together with New City Fellowship, New City East Lake, Thorns2Crowns Ministries, East Lake Expression Engine, and First Presbyterian to celebrate Christ our King and honor Black History Month through songs and spirituals! Gospel Fest is a musical celebration of God's character through black gospel. We will sing congregational songs and hear choral performances. The event typically includes a homily from a local pastor (the last two years we heard from Pastors Alfred Johnson of Church of the Firstborn and Eddie Jacks of Resurrected Baptist Church). Childcare is not provided. Gospel Fest will take place Sunday, February 22nd at 4:00 pm in the First Presbyterian Church sanctuary.
