Communion This Sunday
Monthly Mercy Ministry Giving Opportunity
Grace was never meant to stop with us; it’s meant to flow through us. This Communion Sunday, we invite you to participate in a special tradition of the early church by bringing an offering of mercy. These gifts allow our Mercy Ministry to care for the vulnerable in our church and community in real, immediate ways. It’s not intended to take the place of our regular giving to the church (tithes) but rather to be an extra or special gift as you are able. For online gifts, choose the “Mercy Ministry” fund. For checks, put “mercy ministry” or “deacons” on the memo line.
The 55+ Ministry to senior adults will hold its Spring Luncheon on Friday, March 27 at 11:30am in the Fellowship Hall. With our inspiring devotional, lively music and fun activities, we will explore and express the joy of the new life we have in Christ. Suggested donation at the door: $5. Sign up below or call Glenda Thompson at (423) 629-5525. Invite a friend and be sure to register by March 23.
In honor of New City's 50th Anniversary, join us for a special church-wide workday March 28th, from 9 am to 2 pm. You need not stay the entire time if you have other engagements. There will be tasks for ages 6 and up to do- so bring the family (no childcare planned). For more detailed info, click here. Easter (April 5) is one of the times when people who normally wouldn’t attend church are most open to coming. That means each of us has a meaningful opportunity. Who is someone in your life who might come if you invited them—a coworker, neighbor, or family member? Pray about one or two people you could invite and take a moment to reach out. A simple invitation can make all the difference.
Discover New City April 10-11
Are you ready to engage more fully at New City Fellowship? This Fri. evening, Saturday morning seminar is a great next step to learn more about the church (our beliefs, vision, values, ministries, and meaningful church membership) and to spend some time with our pastors in a classroom setting. The class is required for those who wish to become members of the church.
Jamaica Relief Trip
Thanks for your prayers for the mission team from New City and First Presbyterian Church this week serving in Jamaica. The Lord has blessed our time with the pastors and members of three churches. We have been able to see a widow’s home that had no roof get a complete roof in the few days we have been serving here. We enjoyed a wonderful worship service of the combined three churches on Sunday.
